How did we meet?
AEA met at CIFF (Calgary International Film Festival). Eli & Angie met when they worked together on a film festival challenge. Angie later met Amy via Eli as industry attendees at the Calgary International Film Festival.
What value do we bring our audience?
We are 3 unique individuals with different backgrounds & experiences in the world of film and life. Our areas of “expertise” are different, thus we offer a more balanced view. We’ve noticed that most film review sites are made by people who watch every single film. There’s a lack of perspective of the casual movie-goer. Example: Would someone enjoy a specific Marvel movie if they aren’t that familiar with its universe? We seriously love movies, but don’t take ourselves too seriously, i.e. We love films but aren’t film snobs.

Why red?
Red is my color because it means joy, celebration, and good fortune in Chinese culture. I also just love its look.

About Angie:
My name is Angie and I love movies! I seriously can watch any genre, from action to documentary to International foreign language to Haute couture, anything. Sometimes I’ll indulge in a feel-good movie just for the feels (let’s “Bring It On” “Paddington 2”!). I love movies because they can be a perfect form of escapism. I’m an actress, and my fave actress by far is Kate Winslet. Some of my favorite movies include Gladiator, CODA, Get Out, Whiplash, Titanic, Guardians of the Galaxy, Ready Player One, The Zone of Interest, Promising Young Woman, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Tampopo, Apollo 11 (documentary), and The Sound of Music. Talk about variety!
I don’t have a favorite director but I’ve seen most of Steven Spielberg’s movies and usually come away very inspired, whether artistically, physically, or message-wise.
Favorite producer is Kate Winslet. 😊
